Partners Unpaid Debts Hits Divorcees
An amazing 41,500 people in the UK last year got in contact with the Consumer Credit Counselling Service for advice on inheriting their partners debts even though they had been separated for years. This figure has increased to 38% on last year.
Debt charities have been overwhelmed with people calling them to seek advice on their divorce or separation.
Single mums have been left to pay debts that were in both of their names, the most common being mortgages, credit card debt and school fees.
